Located in the Mobile Harbor, a hexagonal-shaped cottage with a lantern perched atop its roof and resting on iron pilings screwed into the muddy floor of the bay Restored and maintained by Alabama Historical Commission, which hopefully will do the same for Sand Island Lighthouse  located 4 1/2 miles southeast of Dauphin, Island, Alabama.
